Famous Townies Preference Category
4/30/23: The demands of Knox-lovers have been heard and an update has been made to accommodate them with EVEN MORE Knox-love-specific options.
There’s a new Preference Category in town: one for the Townies themselves!
Not for all the Townies, of course, nor even for the ones that are famous to US, the players (like the Goths, because why would a random Sim have an opinion on THEM?). We’re talking about a Townie Preference for some of the NPCs who are are very much in the Sims’ public eye, specifically:
Yamachan
the monstrous kawaii mascot who haunts the festivals of Mt. Komorebi;
Agnes Crumplebottom,
the local irritant and garden shop owner who whacks people with her purse for public displays of affection in Henford-on-Bagley;
Knox Greenburg
the Eco-Master and sex symbol of Evergreen Harbor who pesters people toward greener living;
Judith Ward
polarizing global superstar and itinerant center-of-attention.
Yes, now, it’s not just YOU who hates/loves Judith Ward (et al.); your SIMS can take that stance, too!
To be fair, there ARE people who love Judith Ward.
Doctors call them “masochists”.
With this mod, your Sims may now take a stand on whether they like or dislike these well-known public figures.
If you change that Agnes setting to Like, it means your Sim is insane.
As a result your Sim will get special buffs in the presence of those NPCs, special interactions with those NPCs, and special interactions with other Sims (which may depend on how those Sims feel about those NPCs).
A few of those effects and options you can see in the included images. Others are hidden below.
Important: the mod works only through its ability to recognize those NPCs. If you change those NPCs (say, by making them played characters, de-aging them, or changing their traits), the mod will probably not recognize them any longer, and the effects will no longer trigger. So, if you marry Knox Greenburg, the buffs he generates for you by this mod will stop.
You should probably still marry Knox Greenburg if you can.
Played correctly, he can provide you with plenty of OTHER buffs.
Similarly, if there is some other NPC who mimics the qualities of these NPCs closely enough, they will trigger the effects. This is very unlikely, but , for example if you take Knox Greenburg and make him a playable character and remove his Eco-Master trait, the game will generate another Eco-Master, because it needs there to be one, and the new one may be similar enough in other ways to trigger the mod as if it were Knox. Yamachan and Agnes have individual traits that make mistaking them impossible, so, this is really only possible with Knox and Judith.
The Immovable Objector versus
the Irresistible Box Office Force
Many of the interactions are available ONLY in the proximity of the NPCs. When these controversial figures show up, suddenly a Sim’s stance on them naturally becomes much more of an issue. That means these options won’t be cluttering up your menus at other times, because who really wants to go on a date with some gal who just wants to talk about Knox Greenburg all the time?
