Postal Service Career (Updated for Patch 1.48.94.1020)

Postal Service Career (Updated for Patch 1.48.94.1020)

I’m a fan of ordinary jobs with a more realistic pay for my Sims and while I was looking at the Mail Sim delivering my Monday morning bill, I thought it can’t hurt to have a Postal Service career in the game. This is my first attempt at creating a custom career. There aren’t any chance cards just yet, but they’re in the works and the concept is already written down.

This career is a WIP and it’ll have chance cards, more tracks, career outfit and more in the future. So, stay tuned.

This version is English only. German translation is in the works and will be done soon. Any other language translations are welcome. Contact me if you’re interested.

Enjoy and if you come across any issues, let me know.

This career was created, tested and works with patch 1.46.18.1020.

Update 12/31/2018
Fixed the “Unpaid” issue where Sims won’t get paid when coming home from work.

Postal Service Career:
Ever since you were a kid you looked up to the mail man when he brought your favorite toys sent by your grandparents. The mail man was your superhero and you wanted to be just like him. Now as an adult, you’ve got the chance to deliver toys, bills and eviction notes to customers. Keep your mind sharp, stay in shape, smile when necessary and you’re on the way to be the next Postal Service Executive.

Level 1 – Storage Room Minion
Ideal Mood: Happy
Pay/h: §15
Start Time/Duration: 6 am/8 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Fitness 1
Description: The entry level to a Postal Service career is being the minion to everybody. You’ll clean up the mess, bring out the trash, keep the restrooms sanitary, keep the coffee machine going and pick up pizza. And when the cleaning service isn’t showing up, you’ll mob the floor, too.

Level 2 – Sorting Assistant
Ideal Mood: Energized
Pay/h: §25
Start Time/Duration: 6 am/8 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Fitness 2, Handiness 2
Description: Your skills as a clean-up minion will be missed and you get to boss around the new one while you get to sort mail and packages ready to be delivered. It’s a monotone job but at least you don’t get your hands dirty and you’re able to afford the TV at your local Sim-Mart store.

Level 3 – City Carrier
Ideal Mood: Energized
Pay/h: §30/hour
Start Time/Duration: 8 am/8 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Charisma 1, Fitness 3, Handiness 3, Logic 2
Description: Fresh air, contact to customers and a fancy new bike. You’re now officially a mail carrier and get to deliver the letters and packages you used to sort. Don’t get too excited, though. The next rain is coming and you’ll be thinking about a demotion just so you can work indoors.

Level 4 – Rural Carrier
Ideal Mood: Energized
Pay/h: §35/hour
Start Time/Duration: 8 am/8 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Charisma 2, Fitness 4, Handiness 4, Logic 3
Description: Park the bike and get behind the wheel. You’re still a mail carrier but not in city limits anymore. The air is fresher, you see your favorite steak eating a bunch of grass, you can listen to your favorite song, an A/C system keeps you cool in the summer and you’re dry when it rains. Delivering mail can’t get any better. Just make sure the gas tank is full.

Level 5 – Post Office Clerk
Ideal Mood: Confident
Pay/h: §50/hour
Start Time/Duration: 8 am/8 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Charisma 4, Handiness 5, Logic 4
Description: Your recent promotion finally pays off. No more weather worries and you get to talk to your customers about missing letters, empty packages, money orders and what kind of stamp looks the best on grandmas hand-drawn envelope. You’re a Post office clerk now and show off some of your communication skills while your next paycheck gets your kids to Disney World.

Level 6 – Cargo Assistant
Ideal Mood: Energized
Pay/h: §70/hour
Start Time/Duration: 8 am/8 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Fitness 5, Handiness 6

Level 7 – Cargo Operator
Ideal Mood: Energized
Pay/h: §85/hour
Start Time/Duration: 8 am/7 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Fitness 6, Handiness 7

Level 8 – Employee Supervisor
Ideal Mood: Focused
Pay/h: §100/hour
Start Time/Duration: 8 am/6 hours
Work Days: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr
Objectives: Charisma 6, Logic 6
Description: The boss heard you’re the best when it comes to bossing cargo assistants around and you got promoted to the employee supervisor. You control hiring and firing, promotions and demotions, vacations and sick leave. Yes and no is finally up to you. And the best part. Your paycheck is finally in range to get that house credit approved.

Overall, you’re back to being a minion.
